Default how do you get your work done?

For me, its usually easiest to work after the kids go to bed for the night, but some days i get desperate and throw in a movie

but some ladies I know have actual office hours based on the kids schedules. and others even get the kids involved.

how do you do it?

If my schedule ever stayed the same, I could tell you

I generally say that after 8pm is my "work" time, but if a call is needed during the day I will explain that I have small kids at home. Most of the time, clients are pretty understanding of that... in fact, I once had a client take the kids and I to lunch

Its harder with the small kids. Last summer, I tried to work and it was miserable. That's why the girls started preschool

Oh, and throwing in a movie isn't going to hurt anyone. Everything in moderation

Thankfully mine are in school and are out the door at 6:45 and 7:30 a.m. Hubby and kids come back home between 4 - 4:30, so I get a nice long quiet day.

This summer sucked though. Ironically, the worst one was the college student, who would burst in and go on tirades - I finally told her if she did not respect my work, then I was going to walk into HER work and disrupt the place.

When the boys were much younger, I also worked from home, and they were fine with curling up in my lap while I was typing or I'd put in a movie.

I am not doing it which is part of the problem

It was working out fine when there was just one kid, but now with toddler twins I am finding that whatever down time I have is filled with housework or I am too tired to get out my craft stuff and "work"
I am hoping that by the time they start school or when they are old enough to not need me hovering over them constantly I can squeeze in some time every day

It really wasn't until the girls were 3 that I dared to do anything crafty... they're evil, all of them

Scheduling time off depends solely on the weather. It's been non-stop since Spring - I'm grateful for a little Fall temperatures now and then.

I work both outside AND inside the home. And when I'm working at home it is always late at night after everyone is in bed. Hence, I am always tired. And cranky.
