Totally agree about the pictures first of all. I invested in a photo cube so that I could get better pics of my work...its still not perfect, I cant invest in a better camera right now, but compared to some photos out there they are pretty good.

I also found a sense of humor in your item descriptions helped, and when i was active I had a link to my shop in my sig on every single forum I visited
Little things too like when I shipped out orders I included a small freebie item, and a hard candy with our business card...sounds silly but we got a lot of comments about it and a lot of repeat customers

yeah...sort of...
I usually took the print out of the order form..handwrote a little "thank you " on it, and included it with our biz card, a small candy and a little freebie in the package. Simple to do and those small things seem to make a big impact

I have tags with washing instructions on them, and I hand write a "thank you" on them... I try to keep the paper/packaging to a minimum because of the whole "green" image (and my real need to not waste paper)

LH has great packaging, though... paper cards, plastic bags, etc. Its nice

I used to buy beads from this one place that wrapped the beads in colored tissue paper and tied it with a bow. That was really nice

I found with the beads I needed to ensure there would be not oxydize so the plastic bags work wonders (I get them from the candy isle).

I think I'm going to finish it with some of your ideas, wrapping the item with tissue and tuck in my business card. How about the idea of giving them a discount on the next purchase ?

T that was artbeads that did that.

Just remember to build your packaging into your costs

Man, do I need to edit that sentence.

Good to remember about packaging, it does drive up the cost with bubble wrap/special envelopes.

I don't think people really think about that.
